The State of Sex Survey is an online survey of nearly 2,000 adults ages 18-35. It reveals that 77% of adults ages 18-35 believe that men and women should share equal responsibility for sexual protection, including preventing infection and contraception.
Additionally, 78% of men would rather be responsible and use a condom before their partner pressures them to use contraception, and 52% of women would rather have their partner use a condom than take oral contraceptives.
65% of people surveyed said they would bring condoms as a first date charm, and 63% said they would likely ask about protection when in bed with a sexual partner.
Furthermore, in light of the US Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade , which declared abortion laws unconstitutional, almost all respondents (91%) said they were more likely to use condoms to prevent pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases.
In addition, about half of respondents (52%) said they keep condoms on their bedside table. The most common place for women to store condoms is on the bedside table (57%), while the most common place for men to store condoms is in their wallet (52%).
Nearly two-thirds (64%) of men under 35 say they often or always carry condoms, while this figure drops to 49% for women.
Regarding the statistic that one in eight men bring condoms to funerals 'just in case,' foreign media Mashable wrote, 'Whether you're in mourning or not, it's not a bad idea to bring a condom as a talisman.'
