A fierce man who made the world's largest Nintendo 3DS appears, not only huge but also 3D stereoscopic vision is reproduced firmly

BigRig Creates on the YouTube channel is challenging to make Nintendo 3DS , which recorded cumulative sales of 75.94 million units as Nintendo's portable game machine, huge.

I made the world's largest 3DS-YouTube

This is the world's largest Nintendo 3DS created by BigRig Creates. It's also my own Nintendo 3DS.

It is possible to play exclusive titles just like the original Nintendo 3DS, and it also has huge buttons, a huge touch screen, a huge

slide pad , and the upper screen also realizes 3D stereoscopic vision. .

The base is the super giant Nintendo DS that BigRig Creates made in 2022.

@SWIMMlN , who creates his own gadgets like BigRig Creates, was inspired by the giant Nintendo 3DS and started creating the world's largest Nintendo 3DS.

The goals set by BigRig Creates when making their own giant Nintendo 3DS are ``implementation of a huge foldable top screen'', ``implementation of stereoscopic vision that actually functions'', ``implementation of a giant slide pad that actually functions'', and ``actually 4 points of 'implementing software that works'.

So, BigRig Creates first looked for a used 3D TV on

Facebook's Marketplace and bought it.

Next, I bought a mount to hang the TV on the wall. This mount is typically intended for wall mounting a TV in the following manner:

However, he wanted to make a screen that can be folded vertically like the Nintendo 3DS, so he installed it at a different angle than usual and used it as follows.

It looks like the mount is attached to the TV.

In addition, purchase materials such as wood, ropes, and screws at home centers.

The idea of BigRig Creates is to 'fix the 3D TV with the mount on the stool'. 'At least two hands were required for this installation work,' BigRig Creates says.

There are two technologies for realizing 3D stereoscopic vision in 3D televisions: the 'passive method' and the 'active method.' The active method realizes stereoscopic vision by projecting separate images to the left and right eyes through glasses with polarizing filters.

The other passive method achieves stereoscopic vision by projecting interlaced images alternately to the right and left eyes for each scanning line.

In contrast, the Nintendo 3DS uses

a parallax barrier system that enables stereoscopic 3D viewing without 3D glasses. This is to create a binocular parallax by separating the images entering the left and right eyes by setting up a barrier called a parallax barrier. However, it seems that this method has the drawback that 'it does not work unless it is a small monitor'. In addition, it seems that the used 3D TV purchased by BigRig Creates to make a giant Nintendo 3DS used the active method.

BigRig Creates uses '

citra ' as an emulator for Nintendo 3DS. The reason is that it was the only emulator that supported graphics upscaling.

However, citra emulated only the main screen of Nintendo 3DS, and it seems that the sub screen below could not be output. Therefore, BigRig Creates has created a custom version of citra that can output the image of the bottom screen of Nintendo 3DS by creating a program to extract the image of the bottom screen of Nintendo 3DS from

the source code of citra.

That's why I succeeded in outputting the sub monitor.

Next, we will start making a giant slide pad. It was based on a smartphone.

Prepare a special and expensive conductive filament.

Wrap this around the tip of the giant slide pad.

Then, it became possible to operate the screen of the smartphone with a huge slide pad.

After that, cover the smartphone with a case.

And prepare a rubber band.

Fix the slide pad.

That's all there is to it.

Even if you move the slide pad, it will return to the center with the force of the rubber band.

Below is how you actually wear 3D glasses and play a huge Nintendo 3DS.

The L/R button is also casually implemented on the button part.

Super Mario 3D Land

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D

Tobidase Animal Crossing

I play Nintendo DS and 3DS masterpieces such as

Pokemon X on the giant Nintendo 3DS.
