Studio Ghibli and Star Wars collaboration short movie 'Zen Grogu and Makkuro Kurosuke' distribution decision

Studio Ghibli and Lucasfilm have teamed up to announce that a hand-drawn animation short movie ' Zen Grogu and Makkuro Kurosuke ' will be distributed on Disney Plus.

'Zen Grogu and Makkuro Kurosuke' is a child of the same race as Yoda who appears in the 'Star Wars' series dramas 'Mandalorian' and 'Boba Fett', Grogu and 'My Neighbor Totoro'. This is an original short movie of hand-drawn animation by Studio Ghibli, co-starring Makkurokurosuke.

Distribution will be exclusive to Disney Plus and will start at 17:00 on Saturday, November 12, 2022.

As a work related to the 'Star Wars' series, it is set at the end of the High Republic era when the Jedi Order was at its peak, and a former Padawan faces an unexpectedly evil force while investigating crimes with a Jedi Master. It has been revealed that the mystery thriller drama 'The Acolyte' has also entered production.
