The act of copying and posting content created by other people, which is called 'Pakutsui' in Japan, is called ' copypasta ' overseas by playing with copy and paste. The official Twitter account announced on May 11 that it has created a new policy to crack down on this copypasta, clarifying what constitutes a breach and what to do in the event of a breach.

The new policy states that plagiarism of regulated content 'a set of text, images, or content that has been copied and pasted or duplicated by any means on the Platform is referred to as copypasta or duplicate content.' Definition. While recognizing that copypasta is one of the means used for a wide range of purposes to spread messages, it is said that the tweet may be used for the purpose of manipulating spam acts, Twitter trends, etc. Clarified that it is applicable.

The specific contents of the display restrictions are as follows.
・ Tweets will not be spread at the top of search results or trends.
-Tweets are no longer recommended on the timeline of users who do not follow the creator of the tweet.
・ The display order of tweets in replies is lowered.
・ The tweet or account is excluded from the recommendations in emails and Twitter.

Retweets, additions of unique content, or citations that are clearly stated are not subject to regulation. Also, copypasta alone is not subject to account freezes, but such tweets are subject to Twitter confirmation. As a result, if it turns out that there is a serious violation that conflicts with other policies etc., it may be deleted or permanently frozen for that reason.

Along with the announcement of the policy, a method for reporting plagiarized tweets was also released. To make a report, first tap the button on the upper right.

Tap Report Tweet.

Tap 'Suspicious content or spam'.

Select and report the closest violation.
