Video & photo summary taken with Panasonic's single-lens camera 'GH6'

I took out

Panasonic's Micro Four Thirds SLR camera 'GH6' that appeared in March 2022 to various places and took pictures.

First is the video. GH6 can record and save videos in three formats: MP4, MOV, and Apple ProRes. MP4 is recommended if you want to handle files easily, and MOV and Apple ProRes are recommended if you want to shoot high-quality materials that are supposed to be edited on a PC. However, you need a CFexpress card to shoot with Apple ProRes. Depending on the settings of MOV files, a CFexpress card or a high-speed writable SD card is required. This time, I used my SD card for writing 95MB / s.

Below is a video shot at the maximum resolution '5.8K / 30p / 420 / 10-L' (5760 x 4320 pixels, 29.97p) that can be set.

When you shoot the same subject with '4K / 120p / 420 / 10-L' (3840 x 2160 pixels, 119.88p), it looks like this.

Also, I took a picture of the Kintetsu train with 'FHD / 240p / 420 / 10-L' (1920 x 1080 pixels, 239.76p) ... but at the time of writing the article, YouTube supports a frame rate of 240p. Since there is no such thing, it seems that it has become full HD 120p or 60p.

The following photos were taken with the included 12-60mm lens, and basically taken with 'Intelligent Auto' so that you don't have to mess with the settings each time you take a picture. The white balance is not adjusted at all. In addition, the thumbnails are unified to 560 on the long side, and after clicking, they are reduced to 50% of the actual size. If the file size of the photo after clicking is large, it may exceed 1MB, so be careful when viewing it on a mobile line.

Since the camera and lens weigh about 1.2 kg, it is difficult to hold it with one hand all the time, and it is essential to share the weight with the neck strap. Instead, the shape is easy to hold, so it has a high sense of stability, and if you add an image stabilization function, you should not be bothered by camera shake during daytime shooting.

Regarding the shooting ability, it is a further enhancement of the GH5, so unless you have an extreme use such as 'I want to shoot a moving object without using a tripod in a dark place', I basically left it to the camera. It will take the picture as it is.

As for battery life, I succeeded in shooting 108 minutes with 'Shoot FHD 60p video with monitor attached'. Since I went to still life shooting, it will be a little shorter when focus movement etc. are added, and it seems that it will settle down to about 'about 100 minutes' described in the specifications.

In addition, during the shooting with this FHD60p for more than 1 hour, the fan did not operate at high speed and the main body did not have heat. However, when shooting at 5.7K60p, the temperature of the main unit rose. When I took a picture with FLIR i3, it was over 40 degrees at the back button part.

The air intake is 28.9 degrees.

The exhaust port was 44 degrees.

The temperature near the base of the lens is 37.3 degrees. Since the fan speed was 'normal', it may become 'high speed' with a little more heat when shooting outdoors during the day.
