'Extract Table' that automatically creates a table from the image of the table

There is a lot of information on the Internet, and there are many cases where useful information is displayed as tables and graphs, but the problem is that the searchability is poor if the images are left as they are. When you want to convert a table of such images into a text data format, ' Extract Table ' that can automatically generate a table from the table image is convenient. Extract Table makes full use of

Amazon's machine learning service 'Amazon Textract ' that can recognize the text and handwritten characters reflected on the image and automatically extract this as text data.

It's easy to use, first click 'Browse' at the top of the top page.

Select the image of the table you want to make into a table saved in the PC and click 'Open'.

Go back to the Extract Table and click 'Submit'.

Then, I succeeded in outputting the table image (bottom) as a table (top). The table can also be downloaded as a CSV file.

The downloaded CSV file can be imported into spreadsheet software such as Google Sheets. For Google Spreadsheets, upload the CSV file from 'File'-> 'Import'.

Set the import location to 'Create a new spreadsheet' and click 'Import data'.

Then, you can convert the table that was an image into a table in one shot.

In addition, the work of converting the alphabet in the image to text can be done accurately, but ...

I didn't seem to be good at converting Japanese, so it didn't work.
