◆ Making top illustrations for March 2021
We asked them to draw pin-up illustrations for sketching practice and announcements about the manga works that are being produced with the aim of starting a new serialization in 2021. In addition to making illustrations from rough drafts to drawing work, we will also show you the manga information being produced.
Rough draft by the person in charge of the original part 1. The work under construction is a sci-fi theme depicting 'two girls x the near future', so the composition is such that it draws you into a mysterious world.
The composition is slightly changed with the same character arrangement. The blurred part at the bottom of the image indicates the 'city of the future' in the reference image. By making it vertically long, it became a rough plan with a floating feeling as if it was falling in the sky.
The third plan that changed the sense of distance of the character with a composition depicting a portrait + future city. The movement is more exciting than the second plan, which has a joyful impression. In this illustration, we adopted a composition that was adjusted based on this third plan.
Rough created as a vertically long alternative, part 4. This time, another plan was adopted, but it is an interesting plan that reflects the relationship between the two girls in the work, so it may be specified in a frontispiece etc. at the time of serialization.
Another plan with the same concept as Rough Plan 4. By drawing something like a person's line of sight in the background, it gives a feeling of rustling.
Since the rough draft was decided, I made a baton touch to create a color illustration by the person in charge of drawing. From the rough draft adopted, adjustments were made in the form of 'If the feet are cut off, the composition looks out of order, so put the character up to the feet' and 'The posture of the whole body and the direction of the feet give an image that gives a feeling of floating'. First, grayscale the rough draft by the person in charge of the original and check the outline.
The person in charge of drawing will retake the rough. At this stage, the changes from the rough draft are also reflected.
Detailed rough with modifications. The color of the shoes has been changed due to the natural posture of the legs being thrown out and the adjustment of the character design around here.
Complete the detailed rough by arranging while solidifying the design.
I will add the background and finish it as a whole.
Completed by fine-tuning the expression of hair and how to cast shadows.
The red shortcut on the left is Rion Miyazono, and the long pink hair on the right is Kanon Miyazono. Hanane, who was worried about her 'constitution that she can't make friends with,' meets Rinne, a girl who has the same surname as herself. It's an encounter that will change her world altogether.
Rinne makes a shocking confession to Hanane who just met. A lonely Hanane who lives in the future for a while, and Rinne who calls himself an android.

・ When you serialize manga on GIGAZINE ...?
・ Completely remote and work timing
・ Since the serialized manga will be published in GIGAZINE, you can read it first.
・ There is no strict deadline and it is easy to schedule
・ There are no restrictions on genres or targets, anything is OK as long as it is interesting.
・ Equipped with an assistant who can handle coloring and background (no need for own expense)
・ Because it is a young label, it is easy to pass opinions and requests like a venture company!

・ Basic conditions:
・ It is assumed that it can be read on a smartphone (no spread, vertical scrolling standard)
・ Full color, full digital (in the case of black and white, it may be treated as the 'original', but the application itself is welcome)
-The genre is free and it must be the completed manuscript of 'Episode 1' and its making materials . For making materials, please send the character design and settings, as well as the outline of the entire story in the range of about 200 to 800 characters. Please note that it may not be possible to proceed with the examination if there is a shortage in the application content.

After the first selection by the editorial department, the following examination process is planned. The examination process and stages are subject to change, so we will send you a separate explanation and confirmation before the first stage examination.
Stage 1: Evaluation by closed environment that can only be viewed by GIGAZINE secret club members + Evaluation including making materials by the editorial department

Second stage: Judging after adding necessary items such as 'Episode 1 manuscript' and 'Plot until the final episode' in a format that is more conscious of serialization. At the stage of advancing to this point, I promise to serialize in almost some form.

Final stage: A serialized manuscript will be judged by the editor-in-chief of GIGAZINE + evaluation by GIGAZINE secret club members + guest judgment such as writers serialized in GIGAZINE will be conducted to determine the grand prize winner comprehensively. In addition, we promise to serialize when it remains in the final stage.

Everyone who passed the first screening and was selected for the first stage:
Prize money 30,000 yen
Stage 2 advancement:
Additional prize money of 20,000 yen + editing in charge for serialization
Final stage advancer:
At the time of advancing to the final stage, an additional prize of 50,000 yen (100,000 yen in total) + a commitment to serialize after brushing up the submitted work

Prize money 100,000 yen + serialization promise

・ Flow after receiving the award
After finishing the publication in the serial format on GIGAZINE, it will be converted into an electronic book and sold on Amazon. We will pay the prescribed manuscript fee and royalties for each. GIGAZINE is also responsible for selling and promoting e-books.

◆ Original script application guidelines
・ In addition to the first episode manuscript , prepare a plot (synopsis) from the first episode to the final episode . For the synopsis, please describe the flow of the entire work in detail on the first page of the manuscript in 100 to 800 characters.
・ In the first screening, we will see the fun of a simple story and the completeness of one story. If you proceed from the second screening to the final screening, you will be conscious of actually creating the original manga, and will judge 'Is it possible to constantly create a script written by To?' Until the final episode.
・ If you are applying for 'original only' and only text, it is okay if you paste the text in Google Docs and then enter the address of the shared link in the application form. In that case, please do not edit the document after applying.
-Make sure that Google's sharing setting is 'Everyone who knows the link'. If it remains 'restricted', you will not be able to read the submitted work. For more information, check 'Share files to the public' in Google Docs Help .

◆ Help application procedure
We are looking for help to help you create full-color manga. Undercoating of characters, text placement, and background help are also welcome. You can participate only when possible while staying at home completely remotely.
・ Reward
'Coloring help' and 'Background help' calculate the hourly wage with work management software. The hourly wage is initially set as a trial period, and from there it will be increased according to the work skill and the number of contributions that can be made.
In the case of 'name structure', it is calculated by the manuscript fee per page.

None. Since the flow is 'If you can work, select the one to be undertaken from the task list and work', it is possible to not participate during busy times.
It is also OK to create an original work and propose it for editing while participating in help and earning money and improving skills.
·Application method
From the GIGAZINE Manga Award application form , paste the URL where you can browse 'color manuscripts and portfolios you have worked on in the past' instead of 'address / URL for downloading work files'.
