The setting of 'Pacific Rim: The Continent of Darkness' is after the movie 'Pacific Rim'. As Australia is forced to evacuate after being attacked by a monster, the left-behind Taylor and Haley's brothers and sisters learn to steer the aging and abandoned Tiger on their own and are desperate to find their missing parents. It's about embarking on a journey.
