Wallpapers and icons extracted from North Korea's original OS 'Red Star 3.0' can now be downloaded

North Korea is developing its own OS '

Red Star ' for PCs, but the media files used in version 3.0 of that Red Star have been extracted and published on GitHub. The extracted media files contain the wallpapers, themes, icons, etc. used in Red Star 3.0.

GitHub --BlackOtton / RedStar-Media: Extracted media files from North Korean OS, Red Star 3.0
https://github.com/BlackOtton/RedStar-Media

The wallpapers extracted from Red Star 3.0 are as follows. 8 in total.

Photograph of a weapon nestled in the snow

Flower field spreading all over

Sunset

fields

waterfall

Cityscape

There are many landscape photographs such as mountainous areas.

There is also a photo of an agricultural machine that cultivates a field. However, it is a rather crude composition.

The dedicated tool redstar-tools is used to extract the file, and all the metadata has been deleted in order to use the file safely. However, if you want more security, we recommend using a virtual machine.

The media file extracted from Red Star 3.0 can be downloaded from 'Code' → 'Download ZIP'.

These files are not licensed at the time of writing the article. Black Otton, who extracted the files for the reason, explains , 'These files are not mine, so I decided to leave them in the repository without a license.'
