Introduced in 2020, the iPhone 12 series features a high-end iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max main camera unit with a LiDAR scanner for depth detection. The first LiDAR scanner on Apple devices was the new iPad Pro, which appeared in March 2020. Of the iPhone series, only the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max have LiDAR scanners.
For iPad Pro, the large gray circle just below the LED flash (white circle) in the camera unit is the LiDAR scanner.
According to Digitimes' new supply chain report, all new iPhones coming in 2021 will be equipped with LiDAR scanners. According to Digitimes, Sony is providing LiDAR scanners to Apple. The company has signed a contract to provide Apple with a near-infrared image sensor with a single photon avalanche diode (SPAD) array for dToF LiDAR scanners until 2023. This means that Apple will continue to use LiDAR scanners for iPhones and iPads until at least 2023.
In addition, it is reported that the iPhone 13 will introduce 'millimeter wave 5G compatible machines' to more markets.

With the iPhone 12 series released in 2020, the iPhone is the first to support 5G. There are two types of 5G communication: the sub 6GHz band , which is a 'slow 5G' that applies the frequency band used in existing LTE communication, and the millimeter wave (mmWave) band , which is a 'faster 5G'. However, the only iPhone 12 that supports the millimeter wave band is the 'iPhone 12 series sold in the United States'.

However, according to sources working in Taiwan's supply chain, Apple is steadily preparing to sell millimeter-wave compatible handsets in countries other than the United States. According to this source, a company called Qiqi in Taiwan has received a large order for antennas to support millimeter-wave 5G.
At the time of writing the article, Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. of Japan is supplying the antenna for millimeter wave 5G of iPhone 12. If Apple can stably receive millimeter-wave antennas from other suppliers, it is more likely that it will be able to launch millimeter-wave 5G-compatible iPhones in markets other than the United States.
