Entry model 8th generation iPad haste photo review that can be purchased for 30,000 yen

The 8th generation iPad announced at Apple's new product launch held on September 16, 2020 (Wednesday) was released on September 18, 2020 (Friday). The reserved amount arrived at the GIGAZINE editorial department on the day of release, so I opened the box and took a closer look at the new generation iPad compared to the 7th generation iPad.

The 8th generation iPad box looks like this. I bought a space gray 32GB Wi-Fi model this time.

When you open the lid, you can see the iPad.

In addition to the main unit, there was a case with an instruction manual that says 'Designed by Apple in California', a USB power adapter, and a charging cable.

The charging cable is a USB Type-C terminal-Lightning terminal cable, and the USB power adapter side also has a USB Type-C terminal (female).

USB power adapter is 20W

I will peel off the film of the main body.

This is the 8th generation iPad.

It weighs 483 grams in actual measurement.

The display is 10.2 inches, the same size as the 7th generation iPad (right) released in 2019.

The front camera is a FaceTime HD camera with f / 2.4 / 1.2 megapixels. The aperture value is slightly larger than the 7th generation, which was f / 2.2 / 1.2 megapixels.

Home button with built-in Touch ID

The back side looks like this when it is space gray.

The rear camera is a single lens with f / 2.4.8 megapixels.

The area around the rear camera has not changed from the 7th generation iPad (above).

Power button and 3.5mm audio output terminal on the top.

There is a volume control button on the right side.

On the left side is a terminal for connecting the Smart Keyboard.

Symmetrical speaker grill and Lightning connector on the bottom.

Compared to the 7th generation iPad (bottom), the 8th generation iPad is almost the same, but the diameter of the speaker grill seems to be slightly larger.
