' COMITIA ', an exhibition and sale event for self-produced manga, which is at risk of continuing due to the spread of new coronavirus infection, has started crowdfunding for support for continuation. The target amount of 30 million yen was reached overnight.

COMITIA is an 'Independent production manga magazine exhibition and sale event' held four times a year in February, May, August, and November each year. If you use easy-to-understand expressions, it is a 'manga doujinshi exhibition sale', but unlike the comic market, the point is that it is an event limited to original works that do not include parody or secondary creation of existing works. The term 'independently produced manga magazine' comes from COMITIA, and is used with the meaning that it is aimed at the open reader, not as 'coterie magazine' which has a meaning for the peers.

COMITIA is sponsored by the COMITIA Executive Committee, a volunteer organization with the foundation of Comitia Co., Ltd. There are less than 10 employees engaged in tasks that cannot be handled by volunteer staff alone.

Since it is an event where many people gather, it has been affected by the spread of new coronavirus infectious diseases, and although the ``COMITIA 131'' in February 2020 was held, the number of participants decreased by 30%, 2020 “COMITIA 132 extra” scheduled to be held on the 17th of March, and “COMITIA 133” scheduled to be held on the 21st of September 2020 will be canceled.

The target amount is 30 million yen, and the usage is 'Continuation of COMITIA holding' 'Procurement of administration cost of committee office after the first half of 2021' 'Preparation expenses and equipment costs necessary to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infection' Procurement” of 3 points. 5% of the procured amount will be used for settlement fees and service usage fees, and approximately 25% will be used for necessary expenses such as return creation, shipping and taxes.
