Apple launches Mac trade-in program on official store
Apple has developed a trade-in program for products such as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and this trade-in program was carried out not only online but also in the official Apple Store. A Mac that could be traded in through the online trade-in program, but could not be traded in at the Apple Store, was officially added to the trade-in products in the store.

Apple has traded in its products both online and in stores, but the types of products that can be traded in are different between online and stores. If you trade in, you can get an 'Apple Store Gift Card' or a 'discount on purchasing a new device.' However, trade-in online requires the product to be mailed, which takes longer to get a gift card or discount than trade-in at the store.
However, as Mark Gurman discovered, it has been revealed that Apple has removed from the official trade-in program page the wording that Mac trade-in is online only.

In addition, trade-in of Mac in the store is possible in all Apple Stores in the United States and Canada, but at the time of article creation, it is not possible to do the same trade-in in all other regions. At the time of writing the article, Japan's trade-in program page states that 'Trade-in for Mac or third-party computers is only accepted online, but other devices can also be brought directly to your local Apple Store.' Therefore, it seems that it is not supported in Japan.
Also, not all users in the United States and Canada will soon be able to trade in their Macs, as some Apple Stores have been closed due to protest demonstrations calling for racism against blacks.
