Sake from the faucet occurred in 18 households in the same apartment located in the district of Thrissur, Kerala, India. On February 3, 2020, in the apartment in question, the kitchen / bath faucet was twisted and the 'water splitting' appeared. Residents testify that the smell was intense and they did not want to drink.

Residents furious at this phenomenon immediately reported to the local health authorities. The Waterworks Bureau confirmed that the water was actually contaminated with alcohol and began an investigation. Research has shown that a bar named Rachana, located next to the apartment, was charged six years ago with 'sake of sake.' At the time the trial in question was taken, the court had ordered the tax bureau to 'dispose of moonshine.' The disposal law that the authorities took was 'to pour sake into holes dug in the premises of Ratchana.'

This work took place over a six-hour period, with a total of 6000 liters of liquor dumped into the pit. This liquor slowly penetrates the ground and reaches the water source from which the apartment pumped up the water. As a result, the incident in question was triggered.

A tax bureau official rushed to the scene, apologizing to the residents and asking them to withdraw their complaints, promising to 'purify water sources' and 'provide clean water until they were restored.' Residents have accepted the supply of water, etc., but are planning to sue the tax bureau.
