Google announced in a mail sent to Google Hire users on August 28, 2019 that it made a difficult decision to abolish Google Hire on September 1, 2020. Google Hire itself seems to have been successful, but cited the reason for abolition that it decided that “human resources should be concentrated on other Google Cloud services”.

If you are currently using Google Hire, you can use the service until the earlier of 'Maturity of use contract' or 'September 1, 2020', whichever comes first. There will be no additional charges. In addition, there is no charge for penalties even if the usage contract is terminated before the service ends, and the termination of Google Hire service does not affect the contract contents and fees of other services such as G Suite.

If you want to save data that you have been using Google Hire so far or move to another service, please use the export function in JSON format available as standard, or contact the support team.

The history of Google Hire stems from Google's acquisition of Bebop, a startup for development platforms for businesses. Diane Green, the founder and CEO of Bebop, joined the board of Alphabet, Google ’s parent company, at the same time that Bebop was acquired by Google in November 2015.

Mr. Green then headed Google's enterprise cloud business, including Google Hire, for approximately three years, but resigned in November 2018. Mr. Green is succeeded by Thomas Clearen, a former Oracle executive.

Greg Kunparak, a writer of the technical media TechCrunch , commented, “A new grave mark has been added to Google Cemetery , which is recognizing the discontinued Google service.”

On Twitter, the business leaders who used Google Hire favored the end of the service.
