What is the identity of the mysterious circle of mystery that is growing in the desert of Egypt?

US Geological Survey.

The mystery circles on the Egyptian desert are half dark and others are half bright and half dark. NASA Earth Observatory explains that this crop circle was born in a land reclamation project to enable agriculture even in desert areas, not ancient mysterious monuments since the Pharaoh era. .

Mystery circles begin to pop in the desert where there was nothing in 1999.

It is like this in 2009, with the number increasing steadily over the years.

There will be hundreds in 2018.

From 1998 to 2019, the European Space Agency (ESA) has released a GIF file (54.00MB) that summarizes the images of this crop circle from the sky like a time-lapse movie.

These crop circles are made in East Oyenut in the western part of Egypt. East Oynat is connected to the

Sahara Desert, the world's largest desert that extends across the northern African continent. East Oyenut is an 'extremely dry' region that only rains a few centimeters a year and is classified as 'the driest' on the earth by the dry index . However, in response to growing agricultural demand, a land development project started in January 1998 in East Oynat, and farming in the desert will be attempted.

Since East Oynut does not rain, the center development will involve “ center pivot agriculture ” in which the groundwater is pumped up and sprinklers sprinkled to a radius of 400 meters. Since the farmland is formed in a circle around the sprinkler, it will be like a crop circle.

The groundwater used is flowing out of the world's largest aquifer, the Nubian sandstone aquifer, and it is not a renewable water resource, but it is low in salt and suitable for agriculture. The crops to be cultivated are wheat, barley, potatoes, etc. The quality is good due to long sunshine hours, and it seems to be abundant.

Produced crops are shipped from Shark Elowainat Airport , east of the farm.

In addition, the reason why there is a place where the color is lighter than half of the circular farmland seems to be because half of it is a fallow land due to water shortage in summer.
