Movie to display digital figures with 3D hologram display 'Looking Glass' and move things in the display
3D hologram display " Looking Glass " is a terminal that allows multiple people to view 3D images simultaneously with naked eyes without using VR headset, AR headset, etc. Through cloud funding, the real thing starts reaching the person who contributed in December 2018, and a lot of used movies are released.

Like this, it looks like a digital photo frame, but the image inside the display looks like 3D even with the naked eye. With the following movie, it looks as if you are trapping a frog in a transparent box. In addition, using the LeapMotion which can detect the movement of the hand and perform three-dimensional operation , I touch the frog.

This is a collaboration tool of VR and Looking Glass, it changes as if the thing in the display were stroked according to the movement of the hand.
Designer & developer duo @ marmishurenko & @ gordey_cherny of Synesthetic Echo take a deep dive into their process (and some challenges!) Of designing a VR x Looking Glass art collaborative tool. It is possible to show it interesting even if it is not interactive usage. This is a digital figure display using Looking Glass. There is a turntable in the Looking Glass, and it looks like it is changing the figure on it.
I wrote about implementing the Looking Glass demonstration on C95.

However, there was hardly writing ... because HoloPlay SDK takes care of most of the time. https://t.co/bEoKSsUdgp
For once, the animation of the version used in the exhibition also changed slightly (slight change in color and rotation of the character) # LookingGlass pic.twitter.com/MxaXjprDMp
Because it is three-dimensional, you can see both eyes by peeking in a bit from the side even if the character hides one eye in the hair from the front.
With LookingGlass I got the Rem that I drew with Quill!

The eyes are visible and hidden depending on the angle, the feeling of Rem! ! pic.twitter.com/0hH595OoUH
When it passes through the background, it seems that it looks like a desktop mascot too.
I experimented as if I looked like a desktop mascot if I made an application of Looking Glass in the background, it worked out quite well. With that, you can reproduce that dolphin that really looks three-dimensional ( Yaarase ) # LookingGlass pic.twitter.com/MkxPMPjnOe

Also, some people recreated the clock using the Nixie tube. Light seems to reproduce the place where the Nixie tube reflects light by Unity, not reflection of lighting.

Looking Glass, which seems to be able to enjoy a lot, is $ 499 (about 54,000 yen) at the official site where the 8.9-inch model is $ 600 (about 65,000 yen), the 15.6-inch model is $ 3,000 (about 325,000 yen) It is on sale.
