Hotel 'L's Lodge' Accommodation reviews for a small unexpected and comfortable stay in a small tropical Tuvalu with a population of 10,000

Tropical southern Tuvalu that risk of sinking due to global warming. Tourism is a big industry, but Tuvalu is not as large as it counts as a hotel that searches at a major accommodation site. When I stayed at the hotel " L's Lodge (Elles Lodge )" which was seen on many travel sites and the evaluation from travelers was also high, it was a convincing service that it is possible to spend so much in Tuvalu.

I arrived at "L's Lodge" in the place I walked about 15 minutes from the airport. A fine palm tree grows in the garden.

In Google Maps it is as follows. It is near the northern end of runway at Funafuti International Airport.

The whitewashed building is more like a "mansion in the richest man of Tuvalu" than a hotel.

In addition, a gigantic parabola antenna which received the television broadcast was also installed in the garden. There is no TV station in Tuvalu, but it seems that it is receiving satellite broadcasting in New Zealand.

When entering the premises table and ... ...

There is a sofa and it is a space that guests can relax with each other.

In the garden next to the table there is a 125 cc motorcycle ......

There is a mountain bike. Guests can borrow 24 hours for 10 Australian dollars (approximately 800 yen) and 5 Australian dollars (approximately 400 yen), respectively.

The basic check-in time is "When the plane arrives at the airport." As we stayed at Hotel " Filamona Hotel " beside the airport until the day before, nobody came when we arrived at the hotel in the morning.

The decoration of "WELCOME TO L'S LODGE" that looks through the glass.

After waiting for a while, the staff returned from the airport. When the plane departs and arrives, it is overflowing with Tuvalu women sending pickups and souvenirs, but this staff was also going to pick up guests. It seemed to be Tuvalu person, it was very friendly.

The room on the first floor lies behind the front desk to stay.

The name of the room " Nukulaelae " is one of the six major atolls in Tuvalu. Each room of L's Lodge was named after Tuvalu.

The room is like this.

It is frighteningly cold when entering inside .... The cooler of L's Lodge was enormously powerful enough to learn cold in a condition accustomed to the heat of Tuvalu.

Although the remote control was set at 24 ° C, the cooler works well even at 28 ° C even though it is comfortable.

There is a pot and a refrigerator near the entrance.

The refrigerator was equipped with beer and cola, and water. Medium is reasonably broad, and a 2 liter size plastic bottle has also entered. There are shops that sell food items in the vicinity of the hotel a 2-minute walk away so you could spend comfortably by buying drinks.

There was also a tea bag, and I was able to drink tea.

The bed is about double queen size.

There are plenty of 4 pillows.

The turtle's pattern was stylish for bed throws.

A picture of a flying fish on the bed. It is decorated like an island in the south surrounded by the sea.

Above the side table, a lamp shaped like a hut looking very close to the coast of Tuvalu.

There are two outlets behind the side table. If you use a lamp you will occupy one.

Closet with a full-length mirror in the back of the room.

Because it is plenty storage space, it seemed to be able to respond to a long stay.

Next to the entrance door, the room light and knob.

This knob is a ceiling fan switch. I cut off the cooler which was too effective and I could spend the night comfortably with only the electric fan.

The window at the far end of the room. Louver type can capture light and wind.

Pipe chair and storage shelf in front of the window.

Surprising storage capacity.

In particular, the top surface is ideal for putting bags and so on, and it was useful as surprisingly.

Billions of the door in the room is around the water.

The toilet looks something like this. It is an ordinary toilet.

Shower room and wash basin. In addition, although the amount of water in the shower was enough, hot water did not go out.

The wash basin was a little standing up and I was worried whether the water leaked or not, but there was no water leak during my stay.

Furthermore, L's Lodge has a dining hall and a break super space on the second floor. As I climbed the stairs in the garden ......

Spacious balcony.

Open the door and enter inside, living and dining space. You can have breakfast at the back table.

There was also a 40-inch LCD TV.

Breakfast is like this. Bread, cereal, coffee etc. were self-service.

On the table is a mysterious bottle called Peanut butter (left) and Strawberry Jam (right) and "Marmite". When I misunderstood Marmite, which is black and viscous, as "chocolate" and painted it on bread, I inscribed it with an unimaginable scent and salty taste. This seems to be a yeast food that can be eaten frequently in the UK and New Zealand called mamite , and in Japan it was an indescribable taste that I never had.

In addition, when you want to make bed making, it was necessary to put the "TIDY" card of the entrance door knob.

This time it was 2 nights and the cost was about 13,000 yen. For those who want to spend a comfortable space with a cooler even in Tuvalu, L's Lodge is a hotel that I recommend without any complaints. The difficulty is the point far from the airport. However, as it can be picked up by motorcycle, it seems not to be such a disadvantage.

· Extra <br> It is very convenient for hotel to have rental bike or rental cycle service. There was a rental bike shop in the place about 5 minutes on foot, but unfortunately there was only a scooter. If I touring island in the south, I decided to borrow at the hotel though there would be a gear, but it was different from what I had heard the previous day "15 Australian dollars (about 1200 yen)". "I told you it was ten dollars yesterday," but an old woman did not yield. Although he broke reluctantly, it is unclear how much the regular price is.

The way to run Tuvalu by motorcycle can be confirmed in the following article.

I tried to cross the North and the North to record the "now" of the southern country Tuvalu / Funafuti island, which was in danger of sinking / annihilation - GIGAZINE

Please note that we will be charged for 10 Australian dollars (about 800 yen) unless it is not full at the time of return, although I was pleased to say "I'm going to fill up the gasoline" when borrowing. By the way, the gas station is in less than a minute by bike from L's Lodge.

Even if we made seven round trips to and from north and south of Funafuti Island, gasoline fee was 2 Australian dollars (about 160 yen).
