This is actually a "hole" that was exhibited at the museum. It is an Indian-born sculptor Anish Kapoor in his work, "Descent into Limbo ( Hengoku was named the fall to)".

The hole was 8 feet deep (about 2.4 m) and was painted with "Vantablack (Vanta Black)" which is said to be "the world's blackest substance".

A hole coated with Vanta Black which absorbs 99.6% of light can not be measured with the eyes, it looks like there is no bottom.

In the museum, there were several warning signs indicating that there was a danger of falling into the hole, and staff were also placed near the exhibition, the museum side said "It was in accordance with the protocol" I explain.
