Everyone can enter this contest from amateurs to scientists and professional photographers. Approximately 3,500 entries have been submitted for the 2017 Tournament, and 100 works remaining in the final are selected. The best works will be decided on September 12 in London. ◆ A Nightmare of the Small World (Pratik Pradhan)
Pratik Pradhan 's work was taken on a small scorpion with UV light. As a title of "a small world's nightmare", it is one piece that an eerie devil attacks.
◆ Aurora over a Glacial Lagoon (James Woodend)

◆ Chloroplasts (Stephen Gschmeissner)
This work named "chloroplast" is represented by MidorimushiEuglena algaeWhen it dies, it appears that it releases chloroplasts. This specimen seems to have been collected in a contaminated lake in Vietnam.
◆ Female Simocephalus (Haken Kvarnstrom)

As the title says, one piece that caught a place where soap bubbles freeze. Starting to freeze from the top and bottom, the moment where the layer of water before the freezing in the center is left is contained.
◆ Bass Guitar String (Gerd Guenther)
A picture of the bass guitar's string section. Perhaps, was taken off in half the strings on the vertical, you know well how the winding wound around the core (core).
◆ Horsehead and Flame Nebulae (Dave Watson)

A piece capturing the appearance of two Cliones. Although it is a clione who transforms into a tremendous form when capturing prey, it is exactly like "Angels in Love" (an angel who fell in love) just like the photo title as the situation where two animals are drifting.
◆ Amanita ascends (Phred Petersen)
One piece that captured the appearance of growing Benitetake. It is not a composite photograph but it seems that it was taken by multiple exposure until the umbrella was opened.
◆ Surface Tension (Richard Germain)
A state of a safety pin floating with the force of surface tension of water. This is also a work that captured the moment when the power of science is working.
