I went to the 'Museum of Sex' in the Netherlands to witness the strength of humanity's pursuit of Eros

There are

various museums in the world, including unique museums that collect things related to 'death', but in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, there is a ' sex museum ' with the theme of human 'sex'. I was curious about what kind of place it was, so I went to see it.

When you hear the word ``Sex Museum,'' you think of something underground, but it's located on the street near Amsterdam Central Station .

I found the words 'SEX MUSEUM' on the building right next to the cafe.

First, buy a ticket. It costs 4 euros (about 450 yen) per person, but children under 16 years old are not allowed to enter.

Go inside the building with the ticket stub in hand.

When you enter the building, there are large showcases on both sides...

On the left side, paintings depicting human activities are displayed.

On the right, a life-sized mannequin wearing various gadgets greeted us.

Continue following the arrows.

The exhibits don't fit in the showcase; they're all over the place. The stairs were also full of butts and breasts.

As soon as you went up to the second floor, there was a large atrium space decorated with large paintings.

This place seemed to mainly display homosexual works, and the walls were lined with photographs and paintings of hugs and sexual acts between women and men.

In the showcase below, where many works related to sexual love between men were lined up...

Crystal penis.

At the edge of the space there was also an ornament whose purpose is a mystery.

Go further into the room.

Here, items related to sexual love from various eras and places were displayed.

A very beautifully made pipe ......

A phallic statue said to have been made during the ancient Roman era.

There are ancient items that are slightly different from those found in world history textbooks.

There was also a mannequin of Marilyn Monroe, a 1950s sex symbol.

On this shelf...

An exhibitionist doll who opens and closes her coat in time with the music and rhythm.

There are also toys that rhythmically depict a man and woman stirring around on a bed. In the past, people may have enjoyed these toys for entertainment.

There was also a panel decorated with photographs.

An example of a photo looks like this. The photos in the image below are the most modest ones, and there were many extreme ones that I was hesitant to take.

There are also

chastity belts that were once used.

Instructions for use are explained with illustrations.

You can see that there are thorns on the obi part.

The toilet next to the exhibition room was more than just a toilet.

When you go inside, you'll see three private rooms and a washroom.

The washbasin, which has a motif of female genitalia, is automatic, and when you put your hand out, the water flows like this.

This is what the inside of the private room looks like. On the left side is a toilet for men, and in the back is a toilet that can also be used by women.

I will continue to explore. What was in the next room was...

A bench sandwiched between giant penises. This place has become a photo spot, and I saw people happily sitting on benches and taking pictures while hugging their penises.

Continue up the stairs.

What was here was a wooden box with the words 'SNEAK

PREVIEW ' written on it.

When I bring my face closer to the peephole...

I saw a photo like this. At the time, this seemed to be considered a sexy image.

There is a showcase next to the wooden box.

Films that were actually used were also on display here.

There were also mannequins here that recreated parts of Marilyn Monroe's life. You can move the device by operating the touch panel in front of you.

When I left the room, I saw a woman spinning around in the attic opposite me, her back bent.

In the next room...

A mysterious machine called a condom inflation machine.

There are many objects lined up here as well...

When should I put it on...? There were also accessories that made me wonder.

Discover a space that recreates Amsterdam's Red Light District.

Judging from the costumes etc., it seems like they are reproducing the red light district of the past, not the present day.

It is interesting to see the underwear used at that time on display.

Erotic manga...

There is also a photo book actually taken in Amsterdam called 'CRAZY AMSTERDAM'.

A showcase displaying folk crafts with an Asian feel.

In the further back room...

As you can see from the bound mannequin displayed in the middle, there were photos on display with an SM theme.

The museum is large enough that you can take a thorough look around it in about an hour, and even though it was a weekday, there were many people visiting, both men and women. It doesn't have a dark, underground atmosphere, but rather a cheerful atmosphere where people of all ages are having fun and taking commemorative photos, so it's a good place to stop by when you have some free time after visiting Amsterdam. You can come as a couple or with friends and have fun watching it, but it is also a place where you can take a closer look at it alone and feel a sense of wonder at the depth of the erotic world.

By the way, on the way home after visiting the Museum of Sex, I was cursed with seeing everything as a metaphor for male genitalia.
