Lead director has been taking comedy-touched movies such as "Cheers" "Love is a nuisance" "Yesman." How did you frankly feel when you received an offer of an action hero movie called Antman this time?

Peyton Reed ("Lead"):
Since I was a child I love Marvel Comics, Marvel Movie, Among them, Antoman was one of my favorite heroes. So, I knew about Antmans, and I had some confidence that I could do it even if I was given the supervision.

G:
Among the heroes, Anto Man is a special hero that gets smaller.

Lead:
Yes. I thought that it would be an innovative movie that is not even ever in visual terms, because it is a small hero, I was thrilled before making it.


G:
In the past action hero movies, it is common to say "battle in the big world". Compared to that, an action hero named Antman, 1.5 centimeters, is epochal. Drawing "a powerful scene" with "a small world" seems to be very difficult?

Lead:
I think that being small is the most attractive, it is also the most attractive part. Small things, I think that there is a kind of charm that makes a small place feel the intimacy not found in other superheroes. Even if the entire town floats up or Manhattan is completely destroyed, it is not such a thing, in Antuman it is a backyard even if it makes a climax battle, it is a corner of a girl's bedroom, in a briefcase, I think that it is an interesting place that is impossible in the movie so far to be the stage of the great battle.

The hero movie was too big, the audience could not follow, the part that is far from the reality that I can not sympathize is somewhere, I felt that I was negative. I think Antman is a part of the real world rooted in the real world, and I think that it can be sympathized with the audience.

What was the difficult point in photography technology and what was the easiest thing to do?

Lead:
Technical aspects were all challenging. There were many movies that the hero became smaller until now, but there was a desire to make it the "real" one making full use of the latest technology of the present. For example, in a scene where Anttman runs small and runs around, it sticks to reflect the texture of each grain of the grain, and it is supposed to be a big thing in small worlds even if nothing is everyday, so that objects that can not be seen with the naked eye of the real world, I make making use of imagination.

Not only impression but also elements of "laugh" are interspersed with Antoman everywhere. Does Reed coach taking a lot of comedy movies have particular attention to laughter?

Lead:
There was a desire to make a movie purely enjoyable from children to adults. The fundamental composition is thief movie excitement and hurrahara, but when Paul Rudd plays Scott, comedy color was able to be laid out in the foreground.

By the way Anttan has not only laughter but also elements of "love affair" and "affection". Affection between Scott and her daughter Kathy, love between Dr. Pim and her daughter Hope. Did not it be difficult to balance these elements of "affection" with elements of "laughter"?

Indeed, it was my biggest challenge and it was a challenge to get that balance well. I think that no one thinks that "Antman (ant)" went to see a movie with a title and it certainly cried, but also laughing with laughter which caused a jerky laughter.
