One month in Laos I tried overseas nomads and the cost of living was 30,000 yen
Nomad is a "way of working without a specific office" that has been established recently, but what kind of life will you live if you do Nomad in Laos? I actually tried it.
Hello!World newspaperA special reporterNanao Toyonagais. I'm traveling by changing the location (country) one month at a time while working with a single computer from April this year. Following Hong Kong and Thailand, I chose it as the third country nomad stay countryLaosis.
Laos is around here.
The reason for choosing Laos is only known in textbooks of world historyMekong RiverBecause I thought that I would like to live near.
Another reason is that I wanted to see the lives of people in the country that 80% of the people are engaged in agriculture. This is the city of World Heritage · Luang Parabarn (Luang Prabang) surrounded by nature.
◆ Cafe situation in Laos
I found a cafe that I enjoyed in Nomadic life in Laos. There were a wide variety of restaurants and cafes ranging from hammock cafés along the Mekong River surrounded by nature to stylish cafes with air conditioning.
Stylish cafe of foreigner management. Yoga classes were held at sunrise and sunset time. Because the atmosphere is very good, there were many foreigners who stay long in beer hands.
A hammock cafe along the Mekong River.
I could hit the keyboard with no problems even on the hammock, so I was able to work with jiggling and shaking.
A cafe where you can enjoy a spectacular view. Since the seat is a dressing seat, I could secure my own space and calm down. Wi-Fi is also available in this space.
There was also a stylish cafe with air conditioning. It became indebted during the hot weather.
By the way, there seems to be one co-working space in the capital Vientiane.

The most difficult thing in Nomad life in Laos was the slowness of the Internet. Laos' Internet speed is 4.1 Mbps on average, one tenth of Japan's average 41.7 Mbps. However, the speed of the Internet was different by the cafe, and at a quick cafe it did not hinder the work there.
◆ Dwelling situation in Laos
Monthly apartments are not common in Laos, but discount negotiations are possible at hotels and guesthouses in the case of long-term stay.
Bungalows with fans are also 50,000 Kip (about 600 yen). If you enjoy Laos, it might be good to stay in a bungalow.
In other countries, I stayed at the hostel dormitory for savings, but in Laos I found a private room of 30,000 Kip (about 400 yen) per night and stayed. The room is only bed and desk. Although it is the minimum room, this price was grateful in the private room.
Common space of the hostel. I have been doing work here since I came back.
◆ One day with Laos Nomad
8 o'clock: Wake up. Breakfast is a free breakfast at the hostel. It is a Laos formula that is set with French bread. Laos is strongly influenced by the French colonial period.
9 o'clock: I request a nutritious full-length fruit shake (5000 Kip, about 60 yen) and work at an outside cafe outside.
12 o'clock: When it gets hot, I moved to an air-conditioned cafe. A set of pizza and iced tea 16,000 Kip (about 200 yen)
19: Night rice, 10,000 kip (about 130 yen). It is a form of sipping ingredients as much as you like on a plate. There are instruments which do not know what taste till eating, but since it is impeccable it challenges various kinds of instruments.
20 o'clock: The night market is filled with hula. In the night market held every day, we enjoy window shopping because there are many pretty goods.
22: Work at the hostel's shared space.
◆ Laos Nomad Weekend Edition
In a country you do not know, time just passes by just taking a walk. The picture is half of a year, a bamboo bridge built only during the dry season.
I swam in the cave for the first time in my life.

◆ Laos Nomad Summary
In Laos' s nomadic life, I was able to experience the lifestyle of living with non - birth near nature. Children playing energetically outside the river, the house made of bamboo and watching the whole family surrounded the dinner, I felt "There are also ways to live like this". However, because the things that can be done are limited in the city surrounded by nature, in the case I went to Ruang Paraban, Bambien, Vientiane, if I live in the long term, the capital Vientiane is good I thought.
In Laos I moved to three places in one month and enjoyed being able to see various cities but on the other hand it took time to move and calm down and I felt I was not able to concentrate so much on my work so in as many countries as I can go, But I thought that I wanted to stay in two places.
Next to Laos, we will cross the border by bus and move to Yunnan Province of China. In China, I would like to do my best to make writing and studying Chinese compatible.
