Turn the handle, animation on the iPad screen.
Diamond-shaped fragments dance around Little Boxes.
Move Little Boxes on screen ......
Animation also sticks together.
Followed by the smallest Little Boxes. Turning the handle also shows animation. This time the colorful rope jumping out of Little Boxes spins and turns.
Turning the handle in the reverse direction changed the melody. The animation that jumped out of Little Boxes is also the opposite movement that the rope is sucked into Little Boxes.
As you move through Little Boxes, the rope also follows.
The biggest size Little Boxes spreads geometric patterns like a kaleidoscope when turning the steering wheel.
Spinning
The pattern changes rapidly.
When you release Little Boxes from the screen, the animation slowly disappears.
Little Boxes is made simple. A metal handle is attached to the wooden body.
The back side looks like this.
It was made by hollowing out trees.
Little Boxes was created by Joelle Aeschlimann of ECAL (Art University in Switzerland). By combining a manual music box and an iPad, the physical and digital elements interact with each other.
