NHK publishes optical discs and experimental machines boasting 4 times the capacity of Blu-ray and double speed

Research is being advanced towards trial broadcasting in 8 yearsSuper Hi-VisionNHK is conducting research on optical discs to record data at high speed and in large quantities in preparation for recording, etc. Since the booth to announce the results of that was in " I took a picture while listening.

The appearance of the booth looks like this.

The research title is "thin optical disk high density recording technology", and the disk corresponding to this technology seems to be sometimes called "NFR-Fod (Near Field Reading Flexible Optical Disk)".

The machine used to read and write data is like this. There are two desktop PC sizes, but this one is a huge optical drive.

Technically, it is characterized by realizing reading and writing of high-density data by using thinner light than Blu-ray etc. This makes it possible to store large capacity data of 100 GB in one layer.

Furthermore, the recording rate is also twice that of Blu-ray.

As the ultimate goal, we plan to increase the recording capacity up to 250 GB and increase the recording rate to 500 Mbps.

The inside of the device looks like this.

By placing a kind of weight such as "stabilizing plate" on the disc, it suppresses blurring during rotation, enabling reading and writing with less loss.

The internal head and disk are as follows.

The disk that is actually used is a soft thing that "Guya" was done with such feeling.

The demonstration of this technology will be held on May 27 (Sun) in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo "STRL Open 2012It is open to the public and the booth is waiting for a person who can respond to a tremendously professional question so it is a husband who can spread insight by touching one end of advanced technology as I go to the venue .
