X68000 Case-like sound player for 3 months · Battle appearance completed by handmade

The PC that Sharp used to releaseX68000"I made a case like 1 from myself and the hero who appeared to have created a sound player appeared. Since there is no dimensional drawing of the board, it started from the place of printing a photo of the board found on the net, and the period of time to complete is 3 months. There was just a hard time, and a stunning item was completed.

The road to X68000 case production for GIMIC

I made itMGS (MGS)Mr. If I refuse it before, I made it for the sake of my own enjoyment,We do not accept requests... apparently ...

Originally owned X68000 was broken several years ago, after that it will be on WindowsMDX PlayerAlthough I was moving, I was impressed by the sound of the X68000 fully working product I accidentally acquired. However, since the working item was broken in about a week, there is no easy way to play MDX,G.I.M.I.CIt is calledA multi-tone sound source system with sound source chips used for PCs and arcade games that popular in the 1980s and 1990sDiscovered. "I want to listen to music by putting it in a design case like X68000 at all costs", it seems to have decided to make a case yourself.

The case of X68000 has such a slim shape.

Before making the case, first start from the place to check the size of the board. However, because there was no dimensional drawing, printed board photos that were open to the public on the net.

Let's adapt that board to the case where we made prototype with a paper craft. The size of the limit.

This isYM 2151Sound module. The YM 2151 is an FM sound source which was also mounted on the X68000, and by using it, it is possible to produce the same sound as the X68000.

Case material is blackBakelite.

I will process this with a milling machine.

First of all, the front is completed, it is like this when you build it up to try.

We will leave a hole such as a headphone terminal in the foot part that puts it.

Speaking of X68000, oblique patterns are included on the case top, so this is also reproduced.

The twin tower case is quite small, and because of the design, the motherboard board and the OPM module board can not be put in the same tower so extend the cable.

I installed the SD card connector, liquid crystal panel, speakers etc., the internal structure has been completed considerably. By the way, Mr. MGS introduces the production process over all 9 articles, but here is still "X68000 for GIMIX way to making case 3"is.

Since the liquid crystal panel operates from the outside, buttons etc are necessary. Where we are doing that design is kore.

It will be like this when completed.

Since I want to put a logo in the case, I also make my own logo of X68000.

The logo created with the silver cutting sheet looks something like this. In the end it seems to have made it matt white ... ...

Awfully cool

The SHARP logo is also this street.

Although it has nothing to do with the main body, I also made my own decorative stand which was used as POP for sales promotion at the shop front.

Here too make a logo ......

A complete set was completed.

The left side is the actual machine X68000 ACE, the right side is MGS's own microcase.

Although the texture of the material certainly differs slightly, the degree of reproduction is very high.

The upper surface is subjected to diagonal processing like X68000.

Information on the title and file name of the song being played is displayed on the side liquid crystal panel, the keyboard is displayed, and so on.

Since it corresponds to the contactless charging pad, you can charge the built-in battery just by putting it on the charging pad like this. It is very useful.

The total production cost is about 57,000 yen. It is an article not for sale Mr. MGS made to the end, "Even if there is a request I will not make anything Please noteSo, if you really want it, please refer to the site and challenge yourself.
