How much is Skype's fare?

Tanaka:
As for the question that there is no impact if we do not announce the fee of Skype, I would like to announce it in November. A hint of how you are thinking, is it free if you say "Skype"? Naturally I'm thinking about free as a premise, but there are plenty of places, so making it all free is pretty tough. While keeping the concept of free, I will think about a new fee structure.

As I mentioned before, there are 19 million users who used Skype in the past year in Japan, most of whom are using it from PC. I would like to offer new value to the user that "I want to use on mobile" which is the user's request. I think that Skype basics are free, so if you can explain it again in November.

There seem to be two axes in smartphone deployment, such as localized versions for Japan and overseas models, but what is the guideline?

Masuda:
As you have pointed out, we have quite announced what Ocean Observations user interface (UI) is containing this time. Regarding smartphones, you are asked "Do you pursue the evolution of the OS or add functions for Japan?" But I believe that there are both needs as a need.

XPERIA released from other companies took the latest UI from abroad. There may be something like GALAXY S during this time, I think there is an interface that one manufacturer thinks. Not only that, I will make UI unique UI. Some UIs equipped with Ocean Observations' UI also come out with the UI that the manufacturers invented themselves.

A:

We will start out with CM etc and think more about what we can do more specifically.

Although it is said that using the circuit switching system in partnership with Skype this time, I think that it will have problems of occupancy of the speech channel, but what will it do? What is the burden on facilities?

A:
I am considering how many customers use it and make final judgment. Although I am stating that there is not such a big impact at present, I think that there are usage of customers and unexpected usage, so we will consider facilities etc. as appropriate.

· Although there is an announcement from the latter half of 2010 to 2011, how will you go about separating the IS series and ordinary mobile. How will it develop as a new au?

Tanaka:
Skype is used by 19 million people, but if that user is all au users it will have a considerable impact. However, since I know foreign cases, I think that there is no impact on facilities.

What is KDDI's smartphone, but what I announced today is the second one, I will do a presentation in midtown on 10/29 from now, but I would like to show the differentiation in smartphone design as well. The proportion of feature phones gets less and less than half will shift to smartphones next year, while putting emphasis on smartphones, there are also some customers whose features are absolutely necessary. About smartphone support. In the case of the preceding iPhone, end users are in trouble due to version upgrade of the OS. When deploying smartphones all at once, when you buy it can be used for 1 year, 2 years continued use. Are you going to enrich something after-sales service at shop retailers, phones, and the net?

Tanaka:
Since it is later generations, I am really considering the cases of the two leading companies, and I am touched that our subordinates are doing my best. We are trying hard to start so that we do not inconvenience customers, keeping in-house system towards release. I am experiencing fixed lines as well as many experienced people in Saposen. There are places like the interface of PC, so support will be done firmly.

Q:
Starting with Skype, starting with high speed, increasing the model of IS, releasing the router, it is better than the sofban but worried about the line. What about measures to invest in capital investment and lines?

Tanaka:
As traffic increases rapidly, it is a question as to whether overflow does not occur like other companies, but au's network is still OK. In terms of medium to long term, I have to go through various networks still more. I am doing fixed in 2011 as well, so I would like to collect on multiple networks.

Are you featuring Android, are you interested in Windows Phone, CDMA iPhone etc?

Masuda:
I am asking if I am not interested in other smartphones, but I would like to eventually focus on what we are interested in rather than our interests. For the time being focus on smartphones based on Android. Since we heard that customers' reputation for Windows Phone is also good, we will continue to consider how to put other items as au into the lineup.
