Mito city, Ibaragi to host the 5th "Comiket Special" on Mar, 21 2010

Comic market, a.k.a. Comiket, is a world's biggest comic con, held in August and December every year. In addition to that, "Comiket Special" is held every five year, picking up different locations and themes every time.

This time, Comiket officials state a theme of "Revitalize the town with Comiket" and accept candidates of venue from the general public. Finally Mito city gained honor of being the host of the event.

According to the press release, the next "Comiket Special" will be held on Mar. 21, 2010 hosted by Mito city, Ibaragi.

The officials were accepting hosts from Sept. 2008 and there were 21 candidacies total from every area from Japan. After some inquiries and accesments, Mito city had choosen as the host city.

A business complex in Mito city will be the venue of this world-famous convention. Also an official site for "Comiket Special 5" will be available soon.

Saying "lustral serious entertainment", the 5th comiket special is slowly coming under the spotlight. We should be watching this.
