World's smallest frog in India is discovered, body length is 10 mm
Dr. S. D. Biju, a biologist at the University of Delhi, found a frog with a body length of only 10 mm in India. There are 2400 kinds of vertebrates on the ground in India, but there are 218 frogs in it.

Dr. Biju and his colleague found a small fresh frog inhabiting fallen leaves, in a humid tropical rain forest in the West Ghats mountains of Kerala. This frog seems to be small enough to reach a length of 10 mm even by a growing male, and it is smaller than Indian land vertebrates and all the frogs in other countries. It was named Nyctibatrachus minimus.
This frog can be found only during the night, and it seems that you can hear copulation barks from under the fallen leaves at the time of the monsoon.
