Why is Firefox not popular in Japan?
According to the data presented at the 2nd Mozilla Japan seminar, Firefox, which has acquired about 20% in Europe and about 15% in North America, seems to have some 4% share in Japan for some reason. I still use Mozilla instead of Firefox.
Why is Firefox not popular in Japan?
Details are as below.
Slashdot Japan | Why Firefox does not spread in Japan
X - AC says, "The state of the 2 nd Mozilla Japan seminar is reported with Internet Watch, but there are interesting data on the difference in penetration rate of each country of Firefox.
By region, by region, we have already gained about 20% in Europe and about 15% in North America, but in Asia it fell to less than 10% at a stretch, and when counted only in Japan it got even lower , It seems that there is only a share of about 4% at the present time.
In Japan, it seems that it is only 4% on average, but Opera users have more narrow sense of thought ...
About this figure John Lilly, vice president of business development for Mozilla Corporation, said, "From the point where we also want to know the reasons," we interpret it on the part of the project It seems I am in trouble whether I can do it.
So, with Slashdot, the comment is still unprecedented in history and this is still okay though this load is rising a lot with this much, but how is it actually? Let's think about a bit while quoting comments.
There are lots of tab browsers (score: 5, wonderful insights)

I think that few people think to change.
Certainly, there are many excellent tab browsers including Sleipnir. By the way, IMozilla(Still main),Firefox,IE,Opera,SleipnirWe use a transformational way of using five different types according to the situation. I use Firefox when trying something that works only with Firefox. IE is used mainly for procedures such as Internet banking, online shopping and cookies. When downloading a file, Opera wants to know "that file is really in the doc". Sleipnir opens multiple pages on a site that you need to see in IE. It is definitely a transformational usage, but I do not feel the need to convert it to a single ... ... It's fun. In other words, it is pleasant to use, so it is not painful to have various choices.
As a personal impression, I think that the following reasons are the biggest factors when synthesizing various stories close to us.
I am not interested in browsers (score: 5, wonderful insights)

I do not think that people are interested in browsers, or that many people do not know the word browser.
For example, as I mentioned before, it is said that I want to see GyaO for my friends,
I went to a friend 's house.
So what I do everything is there, so I'm thinking about letting the person do it about the side
"Well, you started the browser first", but he went, "What is a browser?"
He pointed out that this blue E mark
"Oh yeah, you do not have to use strange words as browsers"
I was told that.
Since this E mark = Internet has become established,
I think that there are few Firefox users, I am not interested in browsers.
Since I felt as bad as I was in university, I decided to expand the story in the following order when I explain to a beginner.
How to propagate when Firefox was not yet available and Mozilla was at its best
