Casio Computer's new 'earU' brand, aiming for 'natural hearing,' presents its first product: the ER-100 hearing assist earphones - exterior review.
Casio Computer Co., Ltd., known for its watches, calculators, and electronic musical instruments, has launched a new brand called 'earU' that utilizes the digital sound control technology it has cultivated in electronic musical instruments and other products. As the first product in this brand, the ' ER-100 ,' a cuff-type hearing assist earphone that does not block the ears, will be released on May 28, 2026. We were able to borrow a unit from Casio Computer Co., Ltd., so we first checked out its appearance.

This is what the ER-100's packaging looks like. It features an illustration of the ER-100 and the brand name 'earU'.
When I opened the lid, I found a message paper inside that said, 'Thank you for your purchase.'
The message paper is a double-page booklet that includes illustrated instructions on how to use the earphones.
The package contains the ER-100 unit and a startup guide.
The included spare ear tips come in three sizes: S, M, and L. The M size is pre-installed on the main unit, so there are a total of four sets of ear tips included. A USB Type-A to USB Type-C charging cable was also included.
The ER-100's charging case can charge the earphones more than twice.
The lid has a silver, mirror-like finish.
The storage case measures 89mm wide x 48mm deep x 50mm high, which is slightly larger than typical wireless earbuds. Here's a size comparison with an iPhone 15 Pro Max (76.7mm on its shortest side). The weight, including the earbuds, is approximately 86g.

There is a USB Type-C port on the back for charging.
This is what the bottom looks like. The input is 5.0V x 600mA = 3W, and the built-in battery capacity is 3.8V x 620mAh = 2.356Wh.
This is what it looks like with the storage case lid open. Below each earbud are LED indicators showing the charging status, below the storage compartment for the right earbud is a connection button, and in the center is an LED indicator showing the status of the storage case.
The left and right earbuds look like this. They're not canal-type earbuds that are inserted deeply into the ear canal, but rather ear cuff-type earbuds that don't block the ear. The bridge section has a decorative style accessory.
The style accessory features a marble-patterned plate with a gold border, giving it a luxurious feel.
Furthermore, the style accessories are easily removable.
Since it's an ear cuff type, it's meant to be worn by clipping it onto your ear. I plan to summarize what the sound quality is like when actually using it and what it feels like when worn in the next article, so please look forward to it.
