Uber, the ride-hailing app, has released a 'lost and found list' of items passengers have left in their vehicles, revealing the most common items left behind over the past decade, as well as 50 unique examples.

The ride-hailing app Uber publishes the ' Uber Lost & Found Index ' every year, which compiles items left behind or whose owners are unknown in its vehicles. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Uber Lost & Found Index, Uber has released a report looking back at lost items over the past decade.

Having recovered various lost items in the past, Uber has introduced a lost item recovery feature to the Uber app for people who have left something behind in a vehicle. In some areas, it is also possible to request a ride directly through the app and have your lost item returned.

To use the lost item recovery feature, simply tap 'Activity' from the icon menu at the bottom of the Uber app, scroll down to 'Find your lost item' in the Help section, and report your lost item. You will receive a notification via the app once the driver confirms they have found your lost item in the vehicle. From there, select 'Request Return,' enter your return address, confirm the return shipping fee, and then all you have to do is wait for your lost item to arrive.

The lost and found feature is currently available in California, Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Georgia, Minnesota, and Massachusetts, with plans for nationwide rollout by the end of the year.
