The world's first airport named after Pokémon, ' Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport ,' will open on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, as a temporary renovation of Ishikawa Prefecture's 'Noto Satoyama Airport.' This is part of an initiative by Ishikawa Prefecture and the Pokémon With You Foundation to bring smiles to children affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and to support tourism in the Noto region. The airport is scheduled to be open until September 30, 2029.

Inside the airport, a large Pikachu and airplane balloon will appear in the second-floor atrium, and all 111 types of Flying-type Pokémon discovered as of May 2026 will be placed as decorations. In the first-floor arrival lobby, a large decoration using the art piece 'Bright Future,' which supports the reconstruction of Noto, will be installed, along with three-dimensional monuments of Pikachu, Plusle, and Minun.



Furthermore, the airport will offer a visitor deck called 'Pikachu's Village,' three short videos that can be enjoyed on smartphones, and the airport's unique art installation, 'Sky of Hope.' The restaurant 'Restaurant Annon' on the third floor of the airport will offer Pokémon-themed pancakes and drinks, while the shop 'Serendipity' on the second floor will sell airport-exclusive merchandise such as T-shirts, keychains, and luggage tags.



In terms of transportation, two Pokémon-themed buses from the Hokuriku Railway Group are scheduled to appear in Ishikawa Prefecture from mid-July 2026. In addition to the existing express buses connecting Kanazawa Station, the airport, and Wajima City, a Noto sightseeing bus will also be operating, visiting places such as the 'Wakura Pokémon Footbath' in Wakura Onsen and the 'Sylveon with LOVE' monument in Suzu City. The Noto tourism information website 'Burari Noto Net' says it will be releasing additional Pokémon spots and sightseeing information in preparation for the port's opening in July.
