On April 13, 2026, Huawei posted six images of its foldable smartphone, the 'Pura X Max,' on its official account on the Chinese social media platform Sina Weibo. The following image best shows the appearance of the Pura X Max, revealing a device wider than a typical smartphone that opens horizontally. It features a triple camera on the back, and the back design is carried over from the original ' Pura X ' released in 2025.

While the detailed specifications of the Pura X Max are unknown at the time of writing, several predictions have been reported by Chinese media based on leaks and surrounding information. According to the Chinese technology media outlet itheat.com, the Pura X Max will maintain the same 16:10 aspect ratio as its predecessor and will feature a 7.69-inch WQHD+ built-in screen and a 5.5-inch external screen, a significant improvement in screen usability compared to the Pura X's 6.3-inch built-in screen and 3.5-inch external screen. In terms of core configuration, it is expected to be equipped with Huawei's 'Kirin 9030 flagship chip,' announced in the latter half of 2025, adopting a new 9-core architecture, and will come pre-installed with 'HarmonyOS 6,' which was released in October 2025. Regarding the battery, it is expected to have a 5500mAh built-in battery and support 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless fast charging.
