Unity is working to utilize AI, opening an ' AI Marketplace ' to sell AI tools on its official digital store, the Unity Asset Store, releasing an advertising platform called ' Unity Vector ' that uses AI to match users with games that are tailored to them, and establishing an 'AI Council' within Unity in September 2025 to 'accelerate the pace and quality of innovation.' Unity CEO Matthew Bromberg said, 'AI is transforming our industry, accelerating the volume and pace of game production.'

As part of Unity's further AI efforts, CEO Blomberg revealed during the company's earnings call in February 2026, 'AI-powered authoring is our second focus area for 2026. At GDC in March, we will be announcing the beta version of our newly upgraded Unity AI.'

At the time of writing, Unity AI uses OpenAI's GPT series and Meta's Llama series to help answer user questions and generate code, while the Unity AI Generator uses multiple Unity and partner models to generate and refine assets.

The upgraded Unity AI will enable the development of full-fledged casual games using only the natural language native to the Unity platform.

According to CEO Blomberg, Unity AI leverages existing cutting-edge models based on Unity's unique understanding to perform more powerfully in game development, and combining them with Unity AI will provide more efficient and effective results than using general-purpose models alone. The new Unity AI upgrade is an attempt to 'democratize' game development for non-programmers while improving productivity for all users, and it is expected that AI-enabled development tools will ultimately 'enable tens of millions more people to create interactive entertainment.'

'Our goal is to remove as much friction as possible from the creative process and become the universal bridge between the initial spark of creativity and scalable, persistent digital experiences,' said Bromberg.
