Geo Racers is a game where you race from one point to another using only public transportation.

A browser game called ' Geo Racers ' has been released, in which players compete to see who can travel the fastest from one point to another using only public transportation, so I decided to give it a try to see what kind of game it was.

Race from one side of the world to the other - Geo Racers

https://geo-racers.com/

When you access Geo Racers, you will be asked to enter your name as shown below.

Enter your desired name and click 'Play as Guest'.

Then, several courses were displayed, such as 'Inverness to Gibraltar (from

Inverness in Scotland to Gibraltar at the tip of the Iberian Peninsula )' and 'Galway to Rome (from Galway in Ireland to Rome in Italy)'. Each course specifies available public transportation and funds, and the game is about finding the fastest route within that framework.

This time, select 'Inverness to Gibraltar' and click 'Start Game'.

It starts after the countdown.

On the left side, there is an explanation of the transportation options and rules. Click 'Got it!' to remove the explanation.

When I moved around on the map, I found bus stops and train stations relatively close by.

Hover over a bus stop or train station and you can choose to walk or take a taxi to that location.

Click on an option to see the time and cost for that option.

This time, I'll walk to the station. Select 'Walk here' and click 'Confirm.'

Then the player moved to the specified location.

To get a sense of where I am and where I'm going, I zoom out on the map. The green pin at the top indicates my current location, and the red banner at the bottom indicates my destination. Since I can't fly this time, it seems like the best option is to go to London, cross the English Channel by train, enter the Eurasian continent, and head south to the tip of Spain.

When you arrive at a station or bus stop, the option 'Enter Station' will appear, so click it.

The timetable for trains departing from that station will then be displayed. You can see the terminal station and departure time in a list, and then board the train you want to travel on.

I selected a train bound for

Edinburgh , which sounded familiar.

Select your destination and click 'Confirm Ticket' to purchase your ticket.

After purchasing your ticket, you can skip to the travel time by clicking the button at the bottom that says something like 'Skip to 10:50.'

You can set the movement speed from the 'Speed' item at the top.

Once you arrive at the station, check the timetable again and select your destination. Repeat this process to compete for the fastest time to reach your destination while managing your funds.

A thread about 'Geo Racers' has been posted on the social news site Hacker News, where creator Chris Pattle answers users' questions. Pattle says he got the idea for 'Geo Race' from the BBC program ' Race across the world .'
