Earth-2 Medium Range is a medium-range forecast model that uses the newly developed model architecture 'Atlas,' and is capable of predicting over 70 weather variables, including temperature, pressure, wind speed, and humidity, up to 15 days in advance, achieving performance that exceeds that of major open models.
Earth-2 Nowcasting is a model capable of accurately predicting localized storms and other hazardous weather events up to six hours in advance. It uses a newly developed architecture called 'StormScope' that directly simulates the physical attenuation of storms to generate kilometer-accurate forecasts up to six hours in advance in minutes.
Earth-2 Global Data Assimilation is a model that uses an architecture called 'HealDA' to generate snapshots of temperature, pressure, wind speed, humidity, and other data at thousands of locations around the globe. While similar processing would take hours on a supercomputer, Earth-2 Global Data Assimilation can complete the process in seconds using a GPU. These snapshots are called 'initial conditions,' and by linking these initial conditions with other weather forecasting AI, advanced forecasting becomes possible.
The three models are being developed as open models, with the Earth-2 Medium Range and Earth-2 Nowcasting model data being made publicly available at the following links, and the Earth-2 Global Data Assimilation is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2026.
