Benchmark results show the performance of Intel's 'Core Ultra X9 388H', which exceeds the Ryzen AI Max 395 in some tests and performs well even on battery power



Intel announced details of

its Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) processor, manufactured using the 18A process, in early January 2026. Benchmark results for PCs equipped with the Core Ultra X9 388H , the top model in the series, have been published by various media outlets.

The Core Ultra Series 3 is manufactured using Intel's 18A process, and boasts high power efficiency and processing performance. The top-of-the-line Core Ultra X9 388H model features four P-cores, eight E-cores, and four low-power E-cores. It also features the Intel Arc B390 GPU, which also boasts a 50TOPS NPU.

HotHardware obtained a Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 equipped with the Core Ultra X9 388H and ran various benchmarks. The GeekBench 6 benchmark results are as follows: The Core Ultra X9 388H's multi-core score of 18,058 beats a PC equipped with a Snapdragon X 1E-78-100. Its single-core score of 3,012 beats the Ryzen AI Max 395.



The multi-core score in Cinebench was 5091 and the single-core score was 537.



Below is a comparison of the Cinebench multi-core scores when plugged in (yellow) and running on battery (blue). In the case of the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5, we can see that there is little difference in performance between plugged in and running on battery. This is a very welcome feature for use on the go.



Below are the results of PCMark, which can perform tests similar to real-world PC usage. The Core Ultra X9 388H outperformed the Ryzen AI Max 395 in the Excel test (blue).



In a test to measure video playback time on battery power, the phone managed to play video for 1,342 minutes (22 hours and 22 minutes). While it doesn't quite reach the performance of the Arm processor Snapdragon X 1E-78-100, it still demonstrates its power efficiency.



Wccftech obtained an ASUS Zenbook Duo equipped with a Core Ultra X9 388H processor and ran various tests. The GeekBench 6 multi-core score was 17,819, and the single-core score was 3,011. The scores are similar to those of the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5, showing the small variation.



Cinebench had a multi-core score of 1324 and a single-core score of 130.



The results of the UL Procyon Office Suite test are below. In most tests, it outperforms the previous generation Core Ultra 7 258V and Core Ultra 9 235H.



PC Gamer conducted gaming performance tests on a Zenbook Duo 2026 equipped with a Core Ultra X9 388H processor. Running 'Cyberpunk 2077' at full HD with medium settings, the average FPS was 64 FPS. While this is lower than a PC equipped with an RTX 4050, the average FPS was over 60 FPS, and even when FPS dropped, it was kept to 52 FPS, making it more than comfortable to play.



With upscaling enabled, the average FPS increases to 92 FPS, and even when FPS drops, you can maintain 60 FPS.



When playing the heavyweight game 'Black Myth: Goku' at full HD with medium settings, the average FPS is 39 FPS.



With upscaling enabled, the average FPS is 57. Although it falls below 60 FPS, it is still above 30 FPS, so it seems playable.
