The Russian government has banned Roblox in the country, citing its extremist content and LGBT propaganda. Roskomnadzor, Russia's media watchdog, explained that the ban was 'due to the inappropriate content that could have a negative impact on children's mental and moral development.'
In fact, it has been pointed out that Roblox contains content that could have a negative impact on children, such as dark communities that recreate mass shootings.

It has become clear that the Russian government, which has banned Roblox, is receiving complaints from children in the country.
Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said at a press conference that children have been sending letters of complaint to the presidential office since the ban was imposed on December 3rd.
Censorship activist Ekaterina Mizulina confirmed that she has received 63,000 letters of complaint from children aged 8 to 16 about the Roblox ban, with half of the letters from children expressing a desire to leave Russia.
Roblox was the most downloaded game in Russia until 2023. According to the latest statistics, Roblox has 111.8 million daily active users, of which approximately 40% are children under the age of 13.
In Russia, various platforms with social media elements, such as Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn, are banned, and while YouTube is not banned, it is subject to speed limits and other disruptive measures.
