Regarding Cook's post, Apple-related media 9to5Mac pointed out that 'this is a hint that Apple will announce a new MacBook Air this week.' This new MacBook Air will be equipped with the M4 chip and will be available in two models, 13 inches and 15 inches, just like the current M3-equipped MacBook Air.

The M4 is the latest Apple silicon announced in May 2024, and it is rumored to have some noteworthy upgrades for MacBook Air users. The current MacBook Air model has a maximum memory (RAM) of 24GB, but the new M4 may raise that limit to 32GB. It is also expected to have faster memory bandwidth, two more CPU cores, and a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera.
Additionally, the M4 MacBook Air will have expanded support for external displays. While the M3 MacBook Air could only power two external displays simultaneously when the lid was closed, the M4 MacBook Air will be able to power two external displays while using the built-in display, just like the M4 MacBook Pro.
Apple is also expected to announce a new iPad Air in the spring of 2025. However, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who is familiar with Apple's internal affairs, points out that Apple plans to release the M4-equipped MacBook Air before the iPad Air. However, as the inventory of the current iPad Air model continues to decrease, he says that it is 'not impossible' to announce the new iPad Air and the M4-equipped MacBook Air at the same time.

In addition, with the announcement of a product bearing the name 'Air', gadget YouTuber Marques Brownlee posted 'AirPower has been confirmed' and posted that the AirPower wireless charging mat announced by Apple at the iPhone X launch event in 2017 will be appearing. AirPower was discontinued in 2019.
