According to Microsoft, 'burnout' among clinicians is a problem in the United States, with 56% of those surveyed reporting 'burnout' in 2021, but this is improving to 53% in 2022 and 48% in 2023. The reason for 'burnout' is said to be that doctors are too busy.

Part of what's helping to improve the situation is Nuance's DMO and DAX Copilot, a conversational AI solutions provider that was acquired by Microsoft.

The newly announced 'Dragon Copilot' combines DMO's voice detection capabilities with DAX's ambient listening capabilities, along with fine-tuned generative AI and healthcare-adapted safeguards.

Dragon Copilot offers multilingual environmental note-taking, automated tasks and multilingual support, personalized style and formatting, natural language detection, speech memo, editing, customized text, templates, AI prompts and more, all in a single UI.

Additionally, a built-in AI assistant provides clinicians with universal medical information lookup from trusted sources.

Additionally, key tasks such as verbal instructions, notes and clinical evidence summaries, referrals, and post-consultation summaries can be automated in a single, centralized workspace.
