I tried the 'char siu rice' that the main character in the hit Hong Kong movie 'Twilight Warriors' devoured at the Chinese restaurant Kiji

About half of the customers ordered from the collaboration menu, so the set I ordered was brought to me just over five minutes after I entered the restaurant. It was a set of five dishes.

This is the main dish, char siu rice. Four slices of roasted pork, coated in a sweet sauce and grilled to perfection, are placed on top of lightly cooked rice.

The pork slices are very filling. In the story, the main character, Chan Lok-wan, gobbles them down, but this is a dish that is perfect for munching down.

The set comes with a fried egg.

When Long Gyunfeng served char siu rice to the Luo troops, he said something like, 'Don't tell me to add an egg,' but with this set you can enjoy a luxurious version of char siu rice topped with a fried egg.

The char siu rice, eaten with the soft-boiled egg's runny yolk, is even more delicious and a perfect match. If it tastes this good, I wish they had served the Rakugun with an egg as well...

If the Rakugo troops had been hungry, they would not have left a single grain of rice behind, so they ate it all up as well.

The side dish is parboiled green vegetables.

It's a soup full of flavor and gives you energy.

We also had dessert and the combination was perfect.

'Kiki' opens at 11:30 and the last order is at 14:30. There were many Chinese tourists, so if you know the date and time you want to go, it's best to make a reservation in advance. The movie collaboration 'Char Siu Rice Set' will be available until the end of February 2025.
