OpenAI announces government-specific version of ChatGPT, 'ChatGPT Gov'
On January 28, 2025, OpenAI announced ChatGPT Gov, a custom version of ChatGPT for government agencies. ChatGPT Gov is designed to meet the security requirements of government agencies.

ChatGPT Gov offers the same features as the large enterprise plan ChatGPT Enterprise . Specifically, it offers features such as the ability to save and share conversations, the ability to share custom GPTs within a team, and a console to manage single sign-on, etc.
In addition, ChatGPT Gov can be self-hosted on the US government's Azure cloud , making it easy to apply the strict government security framework, which will expedite the approval of OpenAI's tools for use in sensitive situations.

According to OpenAI, ChatGPT is used by more than 3,500 federal, state and local agencies in the United States, with more than 90,000 users sending more than 18 million messages per day.
