'Hunyuan3D 2.0' is the latest version of Hunyuan3D 1.0 , which was released in 2024, and consists of two basic components: 'Hunyuan3D-DiT', which generates the shape of assets, and 'Hunyuan3D-Paint', which synthesizes textures.

'Hunyuan3D-DiT' is a shape generation model built on the Diffusion Transformer , which combines the diffusion model and the Transformer , and generates shapes that properly match input images or prompts. And 'Hunyuan3D-Paint' generates high-resolution and vivid texture maps for generated or manually created meshes.

The figure below compares the 3D shape data (geometry) generated by several shape generation models using the image on the far left as input. Compared to the other shape generation models, the 3D geometry generated by 'Hunyuan3D-DiT' on the far right is of much higher quality.

Below are textures generated using different texture synthesis models based on the same 3D geometry. The texture generated by 'Hunyuan3D-Paint' on the far right has more natural coloring and color separation than the other models.

Below are the results of comparing the performance of 'Hunyuan3D 2.0' with other open source and closed 3D generation models in various benchmarks. Tencent claims that 'Hunyuan3D 2.0' shows high performance in objective benchmarks.

The pre-trained model of 'Hunyuan3D 2.0' can be downloaded from the official Hugging Face page . Technology media VentureBeat said, 'Tencent is sharing almost every part of the system through Hugging Face. Developers can now use this code to create 3D models that work with standard design software so they can be used immediately in professional environments.'
