Rumor has it that NVIDIA is developing an Arm processor for PCs to compete with Intel and AMD, and plans to release it in 2025

Information has appeared on the Internet that 'NVIDIA is developing Arm processors for Windows machines, scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2025.' If the information is true, NVIDIA could become a strong rival to Intel and AMD not only in terms of GPUs but also CPUs.

Until 2023, manufacturers of CPUs for Windows machines were essentially limited to two companies, Intel and AMD. However, in 2024, PCs using Qualcomm's SoC ' Snapdragon X Elite ' equipped with an Arm-based CPU appeared all at once, expanding users' choices.

Recently, Shun HaYaO, who is familiar with trends in the technology industry, shared information that 'NVIDIA will announce Arm processors for Windows at COMPUTEX to be held in May 2025 and release them in the fourth quarter of 2025.'

According to Shun HaYaO, NVIDIA is working with MediaTek to develop an Arm processor, which will have a high-end version called the 'N1X' and a regular version called the 'N1'. The N1X will sell 3 million units in the fourth quarter of 2025, and the N1 will sell 13 million units in 2026. In addition, the NVIDIA and MediaTek Arm processor development project will bring MediaTek $2 billion (about 316 billion yen) in revenue in 2026 alone. This is equivalent to 8% of MediaTek's annual revenue.

In addition, NVIDIA's AI chips are equipped with NVIDIA's Arm-based CPU 'NVIDIA Grace CPU'. For this reason, it can be said that NVIDIA has accumulated technology to develop Arm-based CPUs.
