the public domain , making it possible to use, copy, and share it freely. The Public Domain Review, an online journal that tracks works that have entered the public domain, has compiled a list of content that will be in the public domain in 2025.

In countries such as Japan, the UK, and Russia, the protection period for copyrighted works is set at '

70 years after the death of the author ,' while in New Zealand and many African and Asian countries it is set at '50 years after the death of the author.' This means that on January 1, 2025, works by people who died in 1954 and those who died in 1974 will be in the public domain. In the United States, films, books, and artworks published in 1929 will be treated as public domain.

Published in 1929 by novelist Virginia Woolf, 'A Room of One's Own' is a novel about the sister of 16th-17th century playwright William Shakespeare . It conveys the message that 'for a woman to be free to create, she must have a certain income and her own room.'
