Musk is suing OpenAI, its CEO Sam Altman, its president Greg Brockman, former director Reid Hoffman, former director and Microsoft vice president Dee Templeton, Microsoft and others for violating antitrust laws.

Musk's lawyers argue that the injunction should 'prevent OpenAI from benefiting from competitive confidential information improperly obtained through its ties to Microsoft and from boardroom coordination.'

In addition, they are calling for a ban on OpenAI asking investors not to back rival companies, including xAI.

In fact, some of the companies backed by xAI have reportedly withdrawn from xAI's support after participating in OpenAI's fundraising round.

The AI development company OpenAI is composed of the non-profit research organization 'OpenAI Inc.' and the for-profit corporation 'OpenAI Global LLC' which is an umbrella organization of the non-profit corporation that covers development costs, and the for-profit corporation is managed by the non-profit corporation. However, there have been talks of turning it into a for-profit company due to fundraising reasons, and Musk's move is an attempt to prevent this commercialization.
