On November 21, 2024, some Internet users pointed out the banner image of Arcane. @eggbertith posted, 'It looks stupid, but what's with Jinx's (or Vi's?) hand?' Another user, @krissibarks , responded, 'It's so disappointing and disrespectful that Netflix would use AI to enhance the poster of Arcane,' pointing out that the banner image of Arcane may have been generated by AI.

The image in question is below. The back of Jinx's left hand, which is on Vi's head, is sometimes exposed and sometimes covered with something like a glove, making it difficult to grasp its exact structure. However, the back of Jinx's hand in the main Arcane game is neatly covered with a glove , so no skin is exposed.
In response, Arcane brand lead Alex Shahmiri said, 'Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have a strict stance on not using AI on anything Arcane related because we feel it would be disrespectful to the incredible artists who have worked on Arcane. The image you pointed out was clearly a mistake and has been removed.' He went on to announce that the image had been removed and that the Arcane production team does not approve of the use of AI.

In addition, another user responded to Shahmiri, 'Okay... but all other content as well? VALORANT , League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra , etc.? Books, comics, promotional art, concept art, etc. ...
i can only speak to what i work on. from a purely personal level, i'm not a fan of ai because what makes art so special is the human connection and feeling. be it through art, music, or any creative medium - it's something i never want to see replaced by ai.
