According to The Information, product prototypes already exist, and OpenAI has spoken to several website and app developers about browser and search products, but they're still a long way from being released.
In July 2024, OpenAI announced its search engine `` SearchGPT, '' which allows users to search for information through conversation with AI, and in November of the same year, it released the AI search service ``ChatGPT search.''

OpenAI's move to not only release a search service but also develop a new browser that integrates ChatGPT could lead to conflict with Google, which holds a large share of the browser and search markets.
However, it has been reported that Google is being pressured by the US Department of Justice to sell its Chrome business, citing 'unlawful monopoly in the search and search advertising markets through anti-competitive and exclusionary practices.'

In addition, OpenAI is also considering incorporating its AI capabilities into Samsung devices. The Information reported, citing a person familiar with the matter, that 'Google Devices, a major business partner of Google, has suffered losses as a result of this incident.'
Shares of Alphabet, Google's parent company, fell 5% on Thursday and were down about 1% in after-hours trading.
