Mattel has produced numerous products for the film ' Wicked ,' which is scheduled for release on November 22, 2024 (scheduled for release in Japan in spring 2025). The dolls in question are the singing dolls of Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked.
The packaging for these dolls was supposed to feature a URL linking to the official Wicked website - wickedmovie.com - but consumers discovered that the actual products contained a URL to the pornographic website wicked.com.

Since the products in question were intended for children aged 4 and above, complaints from many consumers flooded in. Some consumers criticized the company, saying, 'How could something like this have happened when they knew that the main buyers of these dolls were children? The person who created the packaging should be fired immediately.'
whoever did this needs to be fired immediately cuz why would they do that knowing that it's mostly kids buying these dolls

In response, Mattel said: 'We've been made aware of a typographical error on the packaging of Mattel Wicked Collection dolls sold primarily in the United States, which was intended to direct consumers to the official www.wickedmovie.com URL. We deeply regret this and are taking immediate action to correct it. We encourage parents to discard the inaccurate packaging with the typographical error or hide the URL as it is not appropriate for their children.'
Additionally, Mattel is taking steps to remove the affected products from retail stores, Amazon.com, and other platforms by November 10, 2024.
In addition, the doll with the typo is being traded at a price much higher than the regular selling price on auction sites such as eBay, with a list price of $24.99 (about 3,843 yen) to $39.99 (about 6,151 yen), and a price of just under $2,000 (about 307,634 yen).
